Title: 88 Dakota...nothing Special...FS
Post by: threefortyduster on May 15, 2005, 06:24:23 PM
I may be selling the beater truck.

I am currently looking into a 2005 Dakota, so if I go for it, I will have to sell the silver truck, wheels and all.

Info:
Regular Cab
3.9L V6 (runs good)
5 speed Manual
Approx. 150k miles (will provide new Instrument cluster with vehicle, and I will install to make sure it works)
New rack and pinion unit
New power steering pump
Vinyl Seat, in good condition
New tinted windshield
Sliding rear window
New paint (needs re-do as there was visqueen stuck to it)
17" Wheels, 235/45ZR17 tires (needs one new one)
Fresh tune up (full)

The truck runs good, although a bit slow...but it will make a perfect daily driver for anyone. If you are genuinely interested, let me know.  As anyone who knows me knows, I take care of my vehicles, so this one is still no different.

Asking 1500 OBO.

Title: Swap

The body looks good. Do think it would be a good candidate for a big block swap?

SB's are a tight fit in a gen 1...  BB would be worse.  Unless you move the firewall back a foot like the red gen 1 at reynolds

That thing had the firewall moved?  I had no idea.  I do know that thing was way too "race car" to be running just 12's.  Sheet metal interior and a BB and I want to see some 9's with the wheels up.

yeah.. i have no idea why i didnt take any close ups of the truck but he had the entire dash gone, a new "2-tier" firewall back like a foot made of sheetmetal, and the traditional sheetmetal autometer dash.

Dude.... I haven't been to Reynolds in a L O N G time.

Wish I didn't have a $2000 credit card bill keeping me from buying mods for this new truck.

He may have moved it back further for weight balance but I don't believe you have to for a big block swap.

That very well might be.  But it doesnt change the fact that you cant even fit a fan on a 318 in a gen 1.

If you get that truck and BB it, you are required to keep the wheels!

Another classic thread.   I've always enjoyed trolling the classifieds.
