I have 2 gallons of unused Red 50/50 Antifreeze that is about 4 years old.  I poured it into clear bottles to see if it had algae and it did not...

Does this stuff break down over time or have an expiration date?

My father had some antifreeze that must have been decades old and some of it got kind of lumpy like gravy when the flour isn't mixed well.  If it is still in a liquid state it is probably okay but I haven't done any research on this.

Figures I post this and I find out my Niece has been driving around with a bad heater core.  She called me since she was broke down overheating.  After filling it up I got in the car and smell of antifreeze punched me in the face.  She brought it over the next day and I bypassed the heatercore, so she ok now until winter.
