Has anyone tried the Hella vacuum pump UP28, UP30, or UP32 in their vehicle to compensate for a low vacuum signal due to a larger camshaft?  The UP 28 is apparently used to supplement engine vacuum and cannot be used as a stand-alone vacuum source while the UP30 and UP32 can be used as a stand-alone vacuum source.  I’ve never found the UP32 for sale anywhere although the UP30 is available.  It is my understanding that the Hella pumps are quieter than some of the other larger aftermarket pumps available and produce sufficient volume.  They also have a smaller foot print than some of the other aftermarket vacuum pumps.  I’m working on my power brake system and am considering options.

I haven't tried them but I haven't heard anything bad about them.

Have you considered maybe going to a Hydroboost setup with your power brakes?

The Hella pumps are typically used in production vehicles such as the Subaru...and newer Jeeps for example.   They are also used for electric vehicle, diesels...and boosted applications.

I considered the hydro-boost but I'm going to try to fine tune the system I have been working on with the power brake system.  The cam I have installed is not the best for producing sufficient vacuum by the engine alone:  236/242 106 lsa.
