I had a 1981 Chevy LUV I inherited from my grandfather.  It had a factory AM radio with one speaker.  My Dad and I replaced that with a Panasonic cassette deck.  Basic, two speaker out put, with an old school rotary dial radio although it did have auto-reverse.  I prefer analog tuners to this day.    We installed one speaker and used the other existing speaker. It go the job done.  I had that truck for a couple of years.

My 1st vehicle age 16, I had a "Canary Yellow" 1975 International Scout II that had an am/fm 1 speaker system.  I upgraded it to a used Alpine cassette deck that had a few buttons missing and added a used 100 watt amp, then I took the 15inch house speakers out of my bedroom and hooked it up to the amp.  It was loud but sounded terrible.  I soon figured out that home speakers are 8 ohm systems and cars are 4 ohm systems, that was the reason it sounded bad and blew my amp. LOL, live and learn.

I miss that truck!  That 345 IHC v8 with the 727 Torqueflight transmission was unstoppable.  Plus the truck floated in water "long story" LOL.

I did have a 93 Subaru Justy with a Blaupunkct tape deck, Radio Shack amp and dual subs.   That was fun.  Smile

My Brother had a 1982 Chevy LUV from 1983 till 2008, he sold it with over 400,000 miles "4 motor rebuilds".  He always had an huge Alpine stereo/amp/woofers in it.  Way to loud for a little cab.

My first car was a 1967 Mustang Fastback with a 289 engine.  I installed a cheap 8 track and listened to Led Zeplin and Montrose over-and-over again.  lol
