Believe it or not, it held air just fine.  Went over to my buddy's house and had it plugged.

I had one in the same spot.  I couldn't find a shop to touch it, not even my fleet mechanic would patch or plug it.  I ended up plugging it myself.

you guys might not believe the hunks of metal that I have been pulling out of International plow truck tires lately.... I'm tired of mounting 11R and 12R 22.5 tires....

This one is too close to the sidewall for my liking. I would either patch from the inside or simply retire it (pun intended  Laughing )

I feel your pain.
My team pick up bolt seals from drivers that just drop them on the ground instead of throwing them in the trash.
Lots of 11r22.5 and 10.00-20 have been trashed by them.
