Where did the whole cowl hood and Chevy thing come from? I've never heard that before. Confused

Muscle era Chevies had the cowl induction hood with the vacuum operated door that opened and drew in fresh air from the windshield wiper cowl.

Muscle era Mopars had hoods that drew in air from every direction except the cowl area.  Six Pak hoods faced forward, T/A hoods had a ridiculous looking scoop/snout thing, AAR hoods were pretty cool, and then there was the air grabber from the 70's.

Personally, I think the cowl follows the Gen 3 lines better.  They even follow Gen 2 lines better.  Check out RiceKiller's green 390 Gen 2.

I like my AAR cowl hood.  and the fit is pretty good.  Hopefully I will get it painted in the next few months.

Classic thread of the day.  As this board evolves over time - the 5.2/5.9 world has gone Hemi - styling and body applies to every platform.
