I got a Hallmark project, large report, a power point project, a curriculum, and one lesson plan due by tomorrow night. All efforts will be pointed that way this weekend after work.  Laughing
Next weekend will have some better updates.  Smile

Almost forgot about my crank pulley. They say you should replace that bolt every time it has been removed, correct?

I want to put an underdrive pulley on while the engine is out. Do we have a safe dampener/pulley setup yet for the 5.7?

ATI I believe is what most of the Hemi guys on DT run.  Called the "Super Dampener".

updated for hemi fever- that program was uploaded to the 4.7 and the truck runs..just rich of course. The hemi swap is underway. I gave up waiting for moe's performance group buy sale for the pullies that was supposed to be over weeks ago.

Another update..full of headaches as I anticipated

Passenger side mount- no prob, can't use one out of the 4 bolts, who cares

Driver's side mount had to be modified- no biggie

Edge converter is in- huge compared to my 4.7 unit..lol

My engine harness- I bought an extra 4.7 harness, threw it on the hemi and then changed connectors and modified it from there to work. All was well until the motor was about to go in and we noticed the T-Case plug was gone. I was sold a 2wd harness  Mad

So we swapped the plug off my 4.7 harness into the custom harness...minor set back

Set the motor in and the oil pan hits the frt axle...a few inches too wide.

So I'll be having my fabricator buddy knock this pan down to size so it'll fit. This project would be a FAIL without this guy. But he doesn't want me to mention his name because he doesn't want anything to do with this kind of swap EVER again...and I don't blame him. lol

The headers look like they're going to fit. My Converters are on the small side though, they appear to be 2" where as the header outlets are much bigger. This is probably going to be a choking points, but I'm way low on funds ot be buying bigger converters. Any ideas?

Run no converters for a while, just weld a pipe in its place with some flanges that are the right size, and add the cats later when you can afford them.

You could always enlarge the inlets/outlets. Mark whatever size you need, cut accordingly, and weld....

Yeah I think this is what we're going to do. I'm wondering if the volume of the 4.7 converters are ok for the 5.7

How big are your collectors? I would make them at minimum 2.5", if not 3". What year is your Dakota? My '02 Jeep 4.7 had 2 metallic precats and a ceramic 3rd cat. later Dakotas/Jeeps had ceramic precats and no 3rd cat.
